We are looking for a Head of IT , North America (m/f/d), based in New York, NY, Chicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN. The Impact You Will Have Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Head if IT, NA will be is responsible for driving strategic IT initiatives aligned with the region’s growth strategy. This leader will communicate transparently with North America management on significant IT changes, lead the adoption and integration of Generative AI technologies, manage application portfolio renewal and decommissioning in the US, and oversee IT cost management. The role provides leadership for GenAI projects, contributes to rapid productivity initiatives, and steers IT operations and delivery for Allianz Technology of America. Collaboration with senior management and AZT is essential to implement strategic initiatives, optimize delivery models, streamline processes, and address IT legacy challenges. Some of your specific responsibilities could include: North America IT Strategy: Drive strategic IT initiatives across North America in alignment with regional growth strategy. Communicate regularly with North America and Global management on IT changes, developments, and strategic initiatives. Management of IT Costs: Implement region-specific IT cost optimization strategies that align with North American business priorities while maintaining innovation and service quality. AI Adoption and Change Management: Lead the strategic adoption of AI technologies to deliver measurable business impact and efficiencies. Define and prioritize AI use cases, drive end-to-end implementation, and champion integration of AI solutions to streamline operations and elevate customer experience. Allianz Technology of America Steering: Oversee IT operations and delivery, ensuring alignment with global IT strategies and local business needs. Collaborate with senior management and AZT to implement strategic initiatives, optimize delivery models, and address IT legacy challenges. Rapid Productivity IT Lead: Contribute to rapid productivity initiatives, focusing on process optimization and technology utilization. IT Innovation and Legacy Platform Transformation: Oversee application portfolio renewal and decommissioning in the US. Drive transformation of legacy IT platforms to modern, innovative solutions, piloting use cases with external vendors and ensuring alignment with global IT strategy and enterprise architecture. What You’ll Bring to the Role Master’s degree in IT or Engineering Professional IT qualification required Minimum 7–10 years IT professional experience (ideally in financial services) Minimum 7–10 years IT management experience Minimum 7–10 years international experience and remote global team management Minimum 7–10 years project management experience (preferred) Minimum 7–10 years budget and resource management experience A deep knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), with the ability to leverage AI-driven insights to shape strategic decisions and drive innovation across the organization. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.
