Description
Position Summary The Regional HRBP-Central Region is a senior tactical leader responsible for the cultural integration of our expanding multi-state footprint. Partnering in lockstep with the Regional Director of Operations (RDO), this role serves as the "Cultural Steward" for new site locations, ensuring that our core values and operational philosophies are adopted by new leadership teams and frontline employees from day one. You will balance high-intensity site integration—often "operating in the gray"—with traditional HRBP functions such as talent development, performance engineering, and rigorous staffing partner management. Key Responsibilities * Serve as the primary HR consultant to the Regional Director of Operations, aligning human capital strategies with operational goals to ensure new sites hit performance milestones. * Collaborate daily with the RDO to address labor challenges, productivity gaps, and leadership needs across the regional hubs. * Build deep, trust-based relationships with General Managers and onsite leadership, coaching them on effective employee relations and our organization’s management style. * Act as the primary bridge between corporate philosophy and new sites, ensuring a unified "one-team" culture is adopted during the critical first 90 days. * Spend significant time on the warehouse floor at new sites to build direct relationships with employees, ensuring open communication and rapid grievance resolution. * Lead the strategic onboarding of new workforces, ensuring a seamless transition to our payroll, benefits, and policy structures while maintaining high morale. * Execute the "New Site Playbook," coordinating between local leadership and corporate support functions to ensure a stable and compliant launch. * Manage Open House hiring events and I-9 verification sweeps during compressed site launch windows. * Manage relationships with third-party staffing agencies to ensure headcount targets are maintained across all shifts. * Hold vendors accountable to strict KPIs, including fill-rates, "Time to Productivity," safety compliance, and 30-day retention metrics. * Own the regional attrition narrative; analyze voluntary vs. involuntary trends and present data-driven retention strategies to the RDO and executive leadership. * Resolve complex ER issues by conducting thorough onsite investigations and providing consultative support to minimize risk. * Ensure all new sites adhere to federal, state, and local employment laws, including the WARN Act, local retention ordinances, and Successor Employer doctrines. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a heavy emphasis on multi-state logistics, distribution, or high-volume industrial expansion. * Bachelor’s degree in HR or Business required; SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification highly preferred. * Ability to travel 50-75% of the time to assigned hubs across the Central and Eastern regions. * Deep knowledge of multi-state labor laws, Successor Employer liability, and contiguous hire-date requirements. * Proven ability to build credibility quickly with the RDO and new site teams in high-pressure, high-growth environments. * Proficiency in translating raw attrition and headcount data into actionable business cases for retention and talent investment. Why You’ll Love Working with Us:  * Health Coverage That Starts Fast – Medical, Dental & Vision kicks in the first of the month after just 30 days.  * Smile on Us – We’re covering your dental premiums for all of 2026!  * Security You Can Count On – Paid Life Insurance + 401(k) with company match.  * Time Off from Day One – PTO, holidays, and 2 floating holidays for flexibility.  * Weekly Paychecks – Because waiting is overrated.  * Invest in YOU – Full tuition grants & tuition reimbursement.  * Celebrate Success – Quarterly performance bonuses.  Hayes Company/Knight Swift Warehousing and Fulfillment is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment regardless of race, gender identity, gender expression, age, color, religion, disability, veteran's status, sexual orientation, or any other protected factor.
