Position Overview The HR Manager for Japan delivers strong and compliant HR operations, employee lifecycle management, and local HR support across the Japan organisation. The role ensures the smooth running of core HR processes, accurate HR data, and a positive employee experience as DayOne grows its presence in Japan. Key Responsibilities Manage onboarding, offboarding, contracts, probation tracking, and HR documentation. Maintain Workday accuracy for employee data and lifecycle transactions. Coordinate payroll inputs and liaise with payroll and benefits vendors. Ensure full compliance with Japanese labour laws and statutory requirements. Maintain and localise HR policies with global COEs. Prepare documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting. Serve as the primary contact for employee questions and HR policy guidance. Support conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and documentation. Coordinate performance cycles and provide guidance to managers. Support culture, engagement, wellness, and people experience initiatives. Qualifications 6–10 years HR experience with strong HR operations expertise. Deep knowledge of Japanese labour laws and HR compliance. Experience managing HRIS systems; Workday preferred. Fluent in Japanese and English. Strong attention to detail and operational discipline. Ability to work independently in a high-growth environment. Success Measures Accuracy and timeliness of HR operations and documentation. Strong compliance posture. Positive employee experience. Smooth execution of HR programs and HR cycle processes.
