MSALABS is an experienced global provider of geochemical laboratory services to the exploration and mining industries in Canada, the USA and around the world. We have a rapidly growing network of laboratories in key mining regions around the world to limit lead times and transit costs and we employ the latest hi-tech analysis equipment.
We are seeking a highly organized and safety-oriented Regional HSE Coordinator to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our office and lab operations and ensuring day-to-day activities or conducted safely. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Detail orientated and able to work well under pressure
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Diploma or Degree in relevant tertiary qualification
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment certificate
  • Knowledge of WorkSafe BC, CNESST, OSHA, and any other relevant regulations
  • Knowledge and training in ISO system requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years industry experience - industrial / construction / mining / exploration
  • Knowledge of fall protection, lifting equipment, pressure vessels, fume hoods, and radiation safety is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, submit, and present reports, statistics and trend analysis related to HSE performance including environmental parameters/indicators
  • Attend meetings with Lab Managers, Country Managers, and Operations Managers where appropriate to provide feedback in terms of HSE compliance
  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures and reporting throughout the region
  • Identify new technologies and methodologies for improving H&S within the organization and promote a “best practice” safety culture
  • Write, review, and verify HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessments) and mitigation controls
  • Conduct audits and provide written reports on the company’s Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental performance
  • Advise all operations staff on Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental matters
  • Conduct virtual and on-site H&S training when required
  • Investigate, report, and verify incidents and incident classifications
  • Conduct RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Liaise with all related governmental bodies and regulating agencies
  • Maintain electronic copies of relevant Acts and Regulations
  • Other duties as required.
