Private Bank Regional Manager, Northern Leading our Private Northern team Permanent, Full-time position Based at Westpac on Takutai Square, Auckland CBD Mō te Tūranga – About the role Our Private Bank is known for delivering distinctive expertise, deep insights, and genuine care to high‑net‑worth clients across New Zealand. With an internal movement creating a rare opening, we’re looking for an accomplished and values‑driven leader to join our Private Bank team and guide our Northern Region. This is a highly visible, strategically significant role, one that will allow you to further cement your reputation as a high‑performing people leader in a fast‑paced, change‑driven financial environment. Reporting to the Head of Private Bank & Relationship Banking and based in Auckland, you will lead and develop a high‑performing team of Executive Private Advisers, Private Advisers and Associate Private Bankers. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional service to high‑net‑worth clients, driving sustainable business growth, and ensuring operational and risk excellence across the region. You’ll bring strong commercial acumen, deep knowledge of retail banking and wealth management, and a passion for lifting capability. Your leadership will be visible through your commitment to coaching, collaboration, and building a culture where excellence, client centricity, and compliance thrive. Your strategic focus will include: Elevating the Westpac Private Bank brand across the Northern Region through strong market presence and partnerships. Driving regional growth through acquisition and retention of high‑net‑worth clients. Ensuring consistent delivery of high‑quality advice, service excellence, and strong risk and compliance standards. Working closely with internal business partners to deliver a unified message in market and identify opportunities for segment‑led growth. Strong experience in banking or financial services, ideally within Private Banking or wealth management. Proven leadership capability, with experience managing large teams and driving high‑quality service delivery. Solid lending knowledge and confidence interpreting financial statements and complex technical material. Broad understanding of financial markets, investment products, and the property and capital markets landscape. Ability to build and maintain strong networks with internal partners and external high‑value clients. Comfort using technology and digital tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and innovation.
