Our client, a leading semi-state body, is seeking a Regional Manager to oversee operations across the Eastern Region, based 2 days per week onsite in Dublin 15 and 3 days working from home. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing infrastructure, staff, budgets, and development strategies within a high-profile public service environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of long-term strategic objectives while enhancing regional operations, asset performance, and community engagement.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in operational leadership, infrastructure or engineering environments, and a proven ability to manage people, projects, and performance in a dynamic public sector context.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all regional functions aligned with national development goals.
  • Direct the management, maintenance, and enhancement of physical infrastructure and assets across the region.
  • Develop and deliver regional business plans that align with broader organisational strategies and policies.
  • Lead capital project delivery, identifying opportunities for funding and public infrastructure improvement.
  • Ensure robust implementation of Health & Safety systems, policies, and statutory compliance across all operations.
  • Oversee a multidisciplinary team of 37 staff, fostering performance, engagement, and professional development.
  • Maintain and manage regional budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, financial control, and resource allocation.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with government bodies, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
  • Champion initiatives to increase public and recreational use of regional infrastructure assets.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Collaborate with other regional leaders to streamline processes, share resources, and enhance service outcomes.
  • Manage industrial relations with trade union representatives and contribute to a positive employee relations climate.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Level 8 Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Business/Public Management.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ senior management experience in a related sector such as infrastructure, engineering, construction, or public utilities.
  • Proven leadership in delivering complex projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and statutory requirements, particularly in relation to Health & Safety.
  • Demonstrated experience managing significant financial and operational responsibilities.
  • A full driving licence and access to suitable transport for work-related travel.
