Major Trans Canada Highway routes pass through the region, and weather permitting, there are two ice roads that stretch to the James Bay coast.
OPP North East Region provides policing to over 190,000 permanent residents and to more than 400,000 people when including temporary/seasonal residents. There are thousands of pristine waterways, trails and picturesque landscapes that provide endless opportunities for year-round living, vacationing, sporting, and recreational activities.
Members of the North East Region pride themselves on the working partnerships they have with the four Municipal Police Services and four stand-alone Indigenous Police Services in the North East Region.
