Context Under the direct supervision of the Regional Thematic Specialist (Humanitarian Response and Recovery) and overall supervision of the Deputy Regional Director (Operations), and the guidance of the Peace, Recovery, and Solutions Division in Headquarters (HQ), the Regional Peace, Recovery and Solutions Officer coordinates and supports the implementation of institutional policy and programmatic approaches from HQ in Country Offices (COs) across the Region. Specifically, Regional Peace, Recovery and Solutions Officer provides oversight, quality control, and thematic expertise to promote consistent, cohesive, and quality evidence-based programming. Under the leadership of the Regional Thematic Specialist (Humanitarian Response and Recovery) and together with other Regional Thematic Units (RTUs), the Regional Peace, Recovery and Solutions Officer contributes to thought leadership on saving lives and protecting individuals on the move, driving solutions to displacement, and facilitating regular pathways for migration. Under the RO Humanitarian and Recovery Unit, the Regional Peace, Recovery and Solutions Officer identifies regional opportunities and risks, fosters knowledge sharing, encourages policy and research development, and supports cross-thematic collaboration internally. Externally, the Regional Peace, Recovery and Solutions Officer also provides advocacy, policy, and programmatic recommendations regarding Peace and Recovery to regional entities, Member States, and relevant migration fora, spearheaded by IOM’s RO and CO leadership.

Responsibilities

The Regional Peace, Recovery and Solutions Officer coordinates and supports the implementation of institutional policy and programmatic approaches across the region. This role involves providing oversight, quality control, and thematic expertise to promote consistent and quality evidence-based programming.
