General Summary/Responsibilities: Status: Full-time: *40 Hours per week (80 hours per pay period) Shift: 08:00-16:30 Department: Pharmacy Administration Facility: Miami Valley Hospital South The Regional Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, clinical, and personnel activities for Pharmacy Services within the hospitals covered. Primary responsibilities include daily operations, management of staff and resources, project management, quality improvement, budgeting, maintaining compliance with all policies, procedures, accreditation requirements and regulations, medication safety, and teaching. The Regional Pharmacy Manager facilitates communication, coordination, and collaboration among disciplines regarding identification, planning, and provision of high quality, cost-effective care. All responsibilities are accomplished in collaboration with the pharmacy leadership/management team under the direction of the System Vice President of Pharmacy Services and the System Director of Pharmacy Clinical Services. Pharmacy manager for the following: -Atrium Medical Center - Miami Valley Hospital, South Qualifications Education Minimum Level of Education Required: Master’s degree Type of degree: B.S. Pharm or PharmD Area of study/major: Pharmacy Preferred educational qualifications: Master’s degree in pharmacy administration, healthcare administration, business, or other relevant subject area. Position specific testing requirement: N/A Licensure/Certification/Registration Ohio pharmacist licensure in good standing or eligible for licensure with the State of Ohio. Board certification through the Board of Pharmacy Specialists (BPS), preferred. Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), preferred. Experience Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3–5 years of job-related experience Prior job title/occupational experience: Health-system pharmacist Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A Preferred experience: Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency in health-system pharmacy administration and leadership or equivalent work experience Other experience requirements: N/A Knowledge/Skills Managerial skills necessary to plan, organize, direct, and control pharmacy operational activities. Ability to work in a complex team environment and collaborate with both external and internal professionals and customers. Appreciation of age-specific needs of pediatric to geriatric populations regarding drug therapy and services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint®, drug databases. Familiarity with various software, equipment, and technology necessary to provide pharmacy services. Able to demonstrate skills in: Prioritization Problem solving Vision setting Team building Decision making Time management Mentorship Change management Scholarship Teaching Strategic planning Knowledge of pharmacy services within an ever-changing healthcare environment.
