Description

Although this post has been advertised as a fixed term/secondment appointment, NHS staff will only be offered the appointment as a secondment. If you wish to apply as a secondment opportunity, you must have your line manager’s approval. This post may be extended or made permanent at the end of the fixed term/secondment period depending on available funding and business needs.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join an existing team of Regional Practice Education Facilitators (PEFs) to work across primary and community care services in Wales. The role is advertised as a full-time (37.5 hours) Band 7 secondment or fixed term opportunity (until 31.03.26) . The post is open to registered nurses who have an additional background in education or training in a clinical practice environment. Experience of working within primary and community care services is desirable.
Engaging with HEIW, Welsh Universities, local Primary Care Academies, Health Boards, and wider stakeholders, postholders will oversee agreed targeted increases of student placements with primary and community care within designated regions of responsibility.
HEIW is seeking a highly motivated, committed, and creative individual, who shares an ambition to work collaboratively to help drive practice learning placement opportunities in the primary and community care sector.
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and day-to-day operation of plans to open up nursing student placements in General Practices and within community neighbourhood settings. They will work with designated General Practices, HEIW, Welsh Universities, local Primary Care Academies, Health Boards and operational support staff working within the remit of the programme, in planning and coordinating required tasks, projects or programmes of work.
They will work closely with internal partners and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong working relationships to ensure the continued success and further development of pre-registration nursing student placement experiences in General Practices.
They will promote a learning environment that supports innovation and encourages excellence.
The post holder will have autonomy within the role and will be making judgements on multi-stranded issues for which no precedent may exist.
They will deputise for Education Leads in relevant meetings as required.
This position is for a fixed term/secondment of 12 months due to meeting the requirements of the service.
If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
