JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title: REGIONAL QUALITY MANAGER
Summary/Objective: The Regional Quality Manager will oversee all quality-related activities in the region including customer, manufacturing, and supplier. The Regional Quality Manager will also manage and lead the reporting of the quality plant managers, customer quality associates, and supplier quality, be involved in key customer audits and visits, and develop and execute the regional quality roadmap with appropriate feedback to corporate.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:

  • Manage key cases and ensure completion within a timely manner.
  • Work with teams to ensure proper root causes and corrective actions on customer quality issues.
  • Assist the sales process for critical or key accounts.
  • Study and recommend techniques to improve product, process, and control methods to enhance overall quality levels.
  • Manage, analyze, and act upon quality trends in the region.
  • Stay abreast of industry and quality trends.
  • Work with customers and Samtec associates globally to resolve customer quality issues. This may require domestic and international travel and off-hours communications on occasion.
  • Provide input to engineering and operations groups about quality issues and history to improve existing or new designs or processes.
  • Development of the quality roles and positions within the region including professional development plans.
  • Responsible for succession planning for the quality organization.

Required Experience:

  • Significant experience preferred in Engineering, Operations or Quality Management.
  • 3 years minimum experience in quality methods, tools, strategies, etc. with regard to problem analysis, root cause and corrective action.
  • Manufacturing experience is required.
  • Management experience of professional-level resources is required.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
  • Experience in Six Sigma (Green Belt, Yellow Belt, Black Belt) & Lean Manufacturing. Experience in FMEA, 8D, SPC, MSA, DOE, GR&R, PPAP, AQL, APQP, ANOVA and other similar items.
  • Broad understanding of quality systems, processes, and certifications including but not limited to ISO, IATF, MIL-STD-s, Medical, Mil-Aero, etc.
  • Experience in Manufacturing processes, machines, and methods.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or other technical discipline.

Training Required:

  • On the job training as appropriate.

Languages: German and English are essential.
