Description We are seeking a hands-on Field Safety Manager to lead safety, compliance, and driver development initiatives across our Western Region, supporting operations in Texas and Colorado. This role is a key leadership position responsible for reducing risk, strengthening our safety culture, and partnering with operations leaders to drive continuous improvement. Lead driver training and development efforts throughout the region, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ride-alongs, and in-field evaluations Provide hands-on coaching to drivers to reinforce safe driving behaviors, regulatory compliance, and company safety standards Deliver HazMat and liquid chemical handling training to drivers and operational team members Monitor loading and unloading practices to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations Partner with terminal and operational leadership to review and improve procedures and best practices Conduct regular site audits, fleet audits, and procedural reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, CMV, OSHA, and HMR requirements Support and help manage the Responsible Care Program, ensuring environmental, health, and safety standards are maintained Coordinate and lead ongoing safety, compliance, and driver development training sessions Facilitate regular safety meetings and communicate policy updates, key metrics, and performance expectations Document all training activities, incident reviews, and compliance initiatives within internal tracking systems Investigate vehicle incidents, near-misses, workers’ compensation claims, and other safety events within the region Review safety event recordings and in-cab camera footage, including systems such as Netradyne, to identify risks and recommend corrective actions Conduct root cause analysis and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership Train drivers and field teams on in-truck technology, ELD platforms, and safety monitoring systems Troubleshoot and support truck-based technologies and safety tools as needed Maintain spreadsheets, dashboards, and leadership reports related to safety performance and compliance metrics Perform additional safety and compliance-related duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Risk Management, or related field preferred 3–5 years of experience in transportation safety, compliance, or risk management CDL required or willingness to obtain after hire Experience in liquid chemical and HazMat operations strongly preferred Strong knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, HMR, OSHA, and transportation safety regulations Experience with ELD systems such as Samsara or Platform Science preferred Familiarity with event recording systems such as Netradyne preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Travel is expected based on regional operational needs and may range from approximately 25% to 30%, with heavier travel during periods of onboarding, training, and incident response. Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000
