REGIONAL SALES MANAGER

A unique opportunity exists with an Electronics manufacturer located on Long Island, NY which has over seventy years in design and manufacturing of power conversion systems for aircraft, shipboard, ground vehicles, railroads, oil exploration, simulators, production test, and utilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Regional Sales Manager (“RSM”) position will be responsible for developing sales and sales strategies in order to drive revenue within the assigned region. This role is responsible and accountable for creating, servicing, and maintaining an opportunity pipeline with current customers as well as generating new regional business with the overall goal of meeting sales targets.
The RSM will be required to build strong relationships with customers while promoting a solutions selling mentality. The RSM must be able to prospect, identify and cultivate new potential clients and applicable opportunities. Responsibilities will include, maintaining an understanding/insight into market trends and competitors’ products. The RSM will report and keep the management team informed of strategic planning and performance, as well as working with intercompany cross functional teams to include Inside Sales, Engineering, Marketing, Order Entry, and Service.
The position requires excellent people-management skills, high focus on sales targets, an ability to communicate at all levels in the organization, and a thorough understanding of the company’s products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Preferred candidate would have 5 - 10 years sales experience with rugged power supplies or other industrial or military electronics.

  • Must have strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
  • Current relationships with Prime military contractors will be a Plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience required.
Responsibilities
  • Business development; build and manage customer relationships.
  • Call on prospective customers by phone, video conference and in person to provide technical information, recommend products and present system solutions.
  • Maintain a shared CRM customer database with current opportunities and forecasting.
  • Prepare quotes and proposals for customers and responsible for other miscellaneous administrative duties.
  • Responsible for maintaining contact with existing clients through face-to-face visits and phone calls.
  • Create, modify, and exhibit company presentations to customers and partners; evaluate feedback and recommend strategies for future product and solution offerings.
  • Identify growth areas and recommend expansion of product offering for customers.

· Travel of 30%-40% will be required.

  • Manage and follow up on leads in assigned territories.
  • Negotiate sales closure and manage from submittal through delivery.
  • Participate in strategic cost/price analysis for new projects and evaluate manufacturing strategies as required.
  • Work with the engineering team to ensure customer project requirements are met.
  • Attend and support show booth set up and representation at strategic tradeshows nationally.
