Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager role will focus on business growth and channel development with new and emerging independent sales representatives, as well as develop relationships with contractors and end-users. The right person will help build relationships and educate independent reps and customers on how to be successful using SAS products and engineered solutions. This role will be instrumental in the growth of the business through improving representative network effectiveness and accountability. Responsible for overall regional representation in sales for the Northeast Region, along with working directly with the sales application team to process sales orders, prepare pricing, respond to customers inquiries, and expedite orders to maximize sales effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities
· Overall responsibility for sales in the central region of the United States
· Improve overall operational effectiveness of the organization through the development of annual sales plan, objectives, and forecasts aligned with overall sales plan for the business unit.
· Develop network of independent reps to support sales growth
· Develop product awareness at consultant/project representative level to include product capabilities, technical information, new offerings, etc.
· Cultivation of new customers at the installing contractor level; product promotion to specifying engineers on new projects
· Display strong external focus through a keen awareness of market conditions, customer and competitor activities and their related opportunities for the business.
· Create and execute customized marketing plans for major customers within the territory, including participation in trade shows and association events.
· Establish process to identify potential jobs/projects in region and secure bid from independent rep or end customer, set review process with operations, sourcing, and engineering to understand future needs.
· Serve as customer resource for technical and application questions, leverage appropriate internal resources to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
· Travel required, 30-50%
· Listen to customer requests for product and prepare information to submit for quote.
· Confer with Director of Sales and GM on forecasting updates, market dynamics and rep performances.
· Assist in all departmental functions as required such as resolving service issues and account receivables.
Job Qualifications
Required:
· Bachelors degree in an engineering, business or related discipline and/or 5+ years in the HVAC field
· Experience working with manufacture representatives and consulting engineers
· Educated and experienced in blueprint and technical document review with ability to understand and read technical details from prints, drawings, and other documents.
· Demonstrated ability to guide, direct and provide technical guidance to colleagues, representatives, and customers.
· Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trends.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate technically, both internally with various departments and externally with customers.
· Solid organization skills and strong multi-tasking abilities in a timeline driven environment.
· Independent analysis and judgment skills in using prior experience and knowledge of company policies and procedures to resolve non-standard problems.
· Strong computer skills in
· Microsoft Office Suite
· CRM or similar system experience
Preferred:
· Experience in fan performance and heat transfer technology.
