The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for recruiting, hiring, leading and developing a team of sales professionals to drive growth and profitability within the assigned region. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and manage a team of regional sales representatives and business development managers. Set clear performance goals and hold the team accountable for origination volume, profitability, and activity metrics. Provide coaching and professional development to strengthen product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement. Conduct regular pipeline reviews and performance assessments to ensure consistent progress toward regional and company objectives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and integrity aligned with Trans Lease’s values and strategic direction. Business Development & Market Growth Develop and execute a regional sales strategy focused on transportation and vocational equipment markets. Support sales reps in maintaining relationships with top customers and cultivating new vendor, dealer, and OEM relationships to expand origination channels. Work directly with key accounts and high-value relationships to support complex transactions and program development. Partner with senior leadership to identify emerging market opportunities and refine go-to-market strategies. Relationship Management & Collaboration Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, manufacturers, and end-users within the assigned territory. Collaborate with internal credit, documentation, and operations teams to ensure smooth deal flow and timely funding. Represent Trans Lease at regional and national trade shows, dealer events, and industry associations. Strategic Planning & Reporting Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions. Analyze regional performance data and prepare regular reports for senior management. Provide input on pricing, program development, and credit guidelines based on market feedback and deal flow. Qualifications: Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred. Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in equipment finance or commercial lending, with at least 3 years in a leadership or team management role. Proven success managing a distributed or regional sales team within the transportation or vocational equipment finance space. Strong understanding of vendor and dealer program development. Skills & Competencies Leadership and coaching ability with a focus on results and accountability. In-depth knowledge of transportation assets, including tractors, trailers, and vocational trucks. Strong financial acumen and understanding of credit, structuring, and pricing principles. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate autonomously while driving team performance. Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office suite. Other Requirements Willingness to travel regionally (up to 50%) including periodic trips to Trans Lease’s headquarters in Denver, CO. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
