Position Overview The Regional Talent Acquisition Leader acts as DayOne’s primary Talent Acquisition authority in Japan, with end-to-end ownership of local hiring strategy and execution. The role oversees all hiring activity within Japan and is responsible for building scalable, high-quality talent pipelines across all business units in a fast-growing environment. This role requires strong hands-on recruitment capability, ownership of sourcing channels, effective vendor management, and the delivery of a consistent, high-quality hiring experience for candidates and hiring managers alike. What you will do Lead end-to-end recruitment across Japan, partnering closely with senior business leaders and hiring managers. Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on hiring feasibility, timelines, and Japan talent-market realities. Build structured hiring plans and implement consistent, high-quality interview and selection processes. Drive proactive sourcing strategies and continuously optimise all sourcing channels. Build and maintain long-term, role-ready talent pipelines aligned to business growth plans. Own and manage recruitment agencies, partners, and job board providers; ensure strong performance, ROI, and cost effectiveness. Activate and localise DayOne’s EVP for the Japan market, partnering with global teams to drive relevant and impactful talent marketing initiatives. Provide market intelligence, competitor insights, and salary guidance to support informed hiring decisions. Train and coach interviewers on structured interviewing and fair, consistent selection practices. Design and evolve hiring processes as the Japan business scales, balancing speed, quality, and compliance. Manage requisitions, pipelines, and candidate workflows in Workday. Track, analyse, and report TA metrics to improve hiring predictability, efficiency, and quality. Partner with the global Talent Acquisition team on shared projects, insights, and best-practice initiatives. What you will have Strong in-house Talent Acquisition experience in Japan, ideally across technical, engineering, or infrastructure-related roles. Demonstrated expertise in proactive sourcing and long-term pipeline building. Proven experience owning sourcing channels and managing external vendors and partners. Experience building or scaling TA capability in a fast-growing or newly established business preferred. Fluent in Japanese and English (written and spoken). Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and advise senior leaders. Experience using ATS & Technology (Workday preferred). Comfortable operating in a high-growth, evolving environment with changing priorities. Experience mentoring junior recruiters or managing vendors as extensions of the TA team is an advantage.
