POSITION SUMMARY:

The Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within the General Medical and Cardiology ward. This includes the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical and cardiac conditions. The nurse will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery in alignment with hospital policies and the relevant board standards (AHPRA/NMBA in Australia).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
  • Depending on the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop person-centred care plans.
  • Provide care to patients with cardiac conditions including post-myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
  • Assist with the administration of medications, including cardiac-specific therapies, and monitor patient response.
  • Accurately document clinical observations, vital signs, and nursing interventions.
  • Monitor telemetry and support patients undergoing cardiac diagnostics and procedures.
  • Educate patients and their families about their health condition, medications, and ongoing care.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical, allied health, and support staff to deliver holistic care.
  • Comply with infection control standards and workplace safety procedures.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development.
