JOB SUMMARY

The Architect is responsible for planning, designing and overseeing the construction of buildings and other structures. This role involves creating functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing designs that meet client needs, building codes, and environmental standards. Architects collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders throughout all phases of a project – from conceptual design through construction documentation and administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Contribute significantly to all phases of architectural design, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Develop innovative, context-sensitive design solutions that respond to client needs and site conditions
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and contractors to ensure technical accuracy and integration across disciplines
  • Produce clear, accurate, and code-compliant architectural drawings and specifications
  • Oversee and review work of junior staff and interns, providing mentorship and guidance
  • Attend client meetings, site visits and inspections; prepare meeting minutes and field reports
  • Research materials, products and systems to inform design and detailing
  • Ensure designs comply with local zoning laws, building codes, ADA regulations and sustainability goals
  • Manage project timelines and budgets in collaboration with project managers

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years’ of professional experience in architecture
  • Licensure required
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, detailing and construction methods
  • Excellent design, communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
