Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and their families? If you’re dynamic, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, we’d love to have you on our team at ACT Learning Centre!

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a full-time Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA) to join our team. You will play a vital role in our Entry to School (ETS) program and our private ABA practice.
In this unique role, you will divide your time between our government-funded ETS program and our private practice.
The ETS program is a 12-month program that supports autistic children as they prepare and start school for the first time. The first 6 months of the program is a group program that supports autistic children in developing school readiness skills across areas such as communication, play, social interaction, functional routines, behaviour self-management, pre-academic learning, and attention. During the second 6 months of the program, the supervisory team (OT, SLP, RBA) provides transition support to the school teams (at their request) as the child transitions to school.
The group program is delivered through a multidisciplinary model of service, which includes program implementation by classroom facilitators who come from a variety of educational backgrounds, including ECE, CDA, OTA, and ABA. As a vital member of the ETS supervisory team (OT, SLP, RBA), you will provide weekly coaching and consultation to a team of classroom facilitators who are implementing the group program.
In addition to your involvement in the ETS classroom, you will also oversee a small caseload of clients within our ABA private practice.

  • Maintain good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
  • Proven experience working with autistic children and youth.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience providing guidance and support to a team, particularly in high-pressure or stressful situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with team members and families.
  • Ability to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring the team’s goals and strategies are successfully implemented.
  • Significant managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Professional, positive demeanour and ability to maintain composure during challenging situations.
  • In-depth knowledge of child development principles.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a high-demand, dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in a classroom setting with children and youth.
  • Creative, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage conflict and foster positive relationships.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is preferred.
  • A successful Vulnerable Sector screen.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
