As our RBA superstar, you’ll be the go-to for behavior assessments, treatment designs, and teaching our Instructor Therapists the ropes. You’ll also whip up materials, keep an eagle eye on treatment integrity and progress, and work hand-in-hand with parents.
In this role, you’ll dive into FBA’s and work with standardized assessment tools like ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP, PEAK, and more.

Job Description:
· Conducting behaviour and skill assessments in-home or community settings to determine function of behaviour and/or treatment goals.
· Designing treatment strategies that address assessment results.
· Designing data collection to monitor progress of treatment.
· On-going data collection and documentation of client interactions
· Using a BST framework to teach Instructor Therapists to deliver treatment recommendations.
· Developing foundational understanding of ABA in the Instructor Therapists to foster a confident team.
· Modeling, coaching, and monitoring of treatment strategies with caregivers, in-home or community settings
· The ideal candidate will be committed to staying current in the latest research and best practices in ABA, as well as ongoing training and learning as it relates to clinical and treatment design skills.
· Able to receive constructive feedback as it relates to job duties
· Must have flexible availability (e.g., afternoons or evenings). NO WEEKENDS REQUIRED
· Must be flexible to work in different environments (i.e., client’s homes)
· Willingness to travel to multiple locations across Ottawa and surrounding area throughout a workday as needed
· Maintain client confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
· Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and abide by code of ethics as indicated by the CPBAO to maintain client confidentiality and provision of treatment
· Meet with supervised therapists and/or clients weekly, or multiple times per week depending on intensity or phase of assessment or treatment.
Required Qualifications:
· Vulnerable Sector Check (ESSENTIAL)
· Registered Behaviour Analyst with the CPBAO (ESSENTIAL)
· Professional Liability Insurance (ESSENTIAL UPON ACCEPTANCE OF JOB)
· Graduate degree in a field related to behaviour science, behaviour analysis or psychology (PREFERRED)
· 1-2 years experience working in a setting that utilizes Applied Behaviour Analytic processes and strategies (PREFERRED)
· 1-2 years experience working with children and/or adults with autism or other developmental disabilities. (PREFERRED)
· 1-2 years experience working with children and/or adults with mental health or behaviour concerns (PREFERRED)
· Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle (ESSENTIAL)
· Supervision experience as a BCBA and RBA (e.g. supervising a team of therapists) (PREFERRED)
Skills Required:
· Ability to give constructive feedback, building on therapist’s skills and confidence.
· Ability to tactfully communicate and discuss on-going progress, concerns, and sensitive situations with families.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
· Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors
· Working knowledge of Microsoft software programs (e.g., Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook)
An hourly wage based upon demonstrated skills, education, experience, and abilities - starting between $75-85/hr
Hours of work are dependent on caseload and clients
Business hours are Monday through Friday. Saturday hours possible but not required.
Ottawa Region/ Contractor Position- Part Time/ Flexible Scheduling
*We will also consider resumes from individuals who hold a master’s level and are currently an ABA Therapist working towards their hours to become am RBA/ BCBA.
