As a Registered Behaviour Analyst at Progressive Steps, you will play a pivotal role in upholding our values and driving positive outcomes for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

Clinical Excellence:

  • Overseeing and managing clinical operations ensuring the use of evidence-based practices, data-driven decisions in a timely manner, and working on socially significant goals for clients and caregivers.
  • Ensuring client services are in compliance with Progressive Steps’ values, the BACB ethical code, RBA guidelines and OAP guidelines.
  • Developing templates and tools to support the clinical team with their work
  • Monitoring and evaluate client progress towards goals
  • Reviewing clients programs and reports
  • Providing direct supervision of client programs in-person or via zoom, as clinically appropriate
  • Collaborating with the Clinical Director on the creation of new programs and services and research initiatives

Client and Caregiver Satisfaction:

  • Ensuring socially significant outcomes for clients and families
  • Fostering a collaborative treatment team
  • Ensuring therapy is fun and engaging for clients
  • Instilling confidence and comfort in clients and caregivers with their entire treatment team

Behaviour Therapist Training & Development:

  • Providing ongoing supervision, mentorship, performance evaluation, and training opportunities to the clinical team.

Research

  • Contributing to research and innovation within the field
  • Utilizing a research-practitioner model
  • Disseminating your work at conferences or academic journals

Trauma-Informed ABA:

  • Ensuring the use of trauma-informed ABA practices for all clients and families.
  • Participate in the assessment and treatment of challenging behaviour with the use of Practical Functional Assessment and Skill-Based Treatment

Celebrate Neurodiversity:

  • Embracing and celebrating the unique qualities, preferences, and interests of our clients while supporting the team to help them access meaningful experiences.
  • Educating caregivers and stakeholders as needed on neurodiversity and embracing differences.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered Behaviour Analyst
  • On the OAP approved provider list

SHOULD-HAVE EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 7 years providing ABA services to children and teenagers with ASD
  • Minimum 3 years post-BCBA certification supervising ABA services to children and teenagers with ASD

SKILLS:

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Strong staff and caregiver training skills
  • Proficiency in applying a trauma-informed approach to challenging behavior, including Practical Functional Assessment and Skill-Based Treatment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children, teenagers, and adults across a range of behavioural needs.
  • Familiarity with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training
  • Familiarity with a variety fo skills assessment tools
