Description

A Luton based children and young people’s service is looking for a dynamic Registered Children’s Home Manager to lead their team in a residential care.
The service offers a safe, and nurturing home for young people aged 16+ who require support relating to their mental health and wellbeing.
As Registered Children’s Home Manager, you’ll be managing the team’s activities, assuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements and maintaining effective safeguarding and welfare measures.
Your leadership will help ensure residents receive extensive support to build their confidence and independent living skills in a tailored environment, with access to positive, constructive opportunities for development and self-expression.
You’ll be able to make a real, tangible difference to the young people in your care while taking further opportunities for your professional recognition and progression.
This is a permanent, full-time position for a Registered Children’s Home Manager.
Person specification:
(Essential) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
(Essential) Previous registration with a relevant governing body
(Essential) Valid driving licence and access to vehicle (for travel between local homes){currently 1 but plans to expand}
(Desirable) At least 2 years’ experience as a residential care manager
In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for children’s homes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and families.
Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Duties of the Children’s Home Registered Manager include:
You will manage the residential home efficiently, ensuring the effective delivery of the main responsibilities and key result areas identified within the role of Residential Manager, you will participate in an on-call rota to ensure effective management across services on a 24/7 basis.
Manage the residential service, offering expert support to young people.
Build and develop staff team
Manage residential staff team, including Deputies, Team Leaders and Support Workers
Ensure the service meets OFSTED standards
Manage staff team within the service
Manage recruitment and staffing
Work with Stakeholders to ensure the service implements companies policies and procedures
Manage quality assurance
Manage budget
