Are you an experienced, compassionate, and resilient leader ready to open and manage a brand new children’s home? We are looking for an innovative Registered Manager to join our team in Guildford and create a therapeutic, young person-centred service from the ground up.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a home that will support vulnerable young people, aged 15-18, with learning disabilities as they transition to more independent living. Your role will be instrumental in building a positive, caring environment based on our Positive Behaviour Support approach.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Salary: We offer a competitive salary of £60,000–£65,000 per year.
  • Therapeutic Environment: Work within a service that has a designated psychologist to support the home.
  • Development: Access to extensive training and a structured leadership development program.
  • Generous Leave: Enjoy generous annual leave plus bank holidays, as well as an employee pension scheme and a company vehicle for work use.
    The Role
As the Registered Manager, you will be accountable for the overall management and success of this new 4-bed residential service. You will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the home operates to the highest standards of care, welfare, and safety.

  • Leadership & Development: Inspire and lead a team of staff, ensuring they have the necessary training, supervision, and support to excel in their roles.
  • Safeguarding: Act as the safeguarding lead, ensuring all risks are identified and acted upon immediately to protect the well-being of the young people.
  • Compliance: Maintain a state of “Ofsted readiness” at all times, with the goal of achieving an Outstanding rating within three years.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with social workers, education partners, clinicians, and other external agencies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience: At least two years of experience in a residential leadership position and a minimum of two years of experience working with vulnerable young people, particularly those with a learning disability.
  • Qualifications: You must hold a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Children’s Residential Care. We may consider a Level 3 candidate who is actively working towards their Level 5.
  • Knowledge: A deep understanding of relevant legislation, Ofsted regulations, and a proven track record of positive inspection outcomes.
  • Approach: Experience with therapeutic or Positive Behaviour Support models is essential. You must demonstrate empathy, patience, and the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
  • Commitment: The role requires a willingness to cover on-call duties and work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
