JOB OVERVIEW

Our clinic, currently in a phase of rapid growth, enjoys a prime location between two longstanding family medicine offices in the heart of Lonsdale. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing patient care, and will be responsible for delivering high-quality counseling services in a clinical setting. This role requires a commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of patients through effective case management and therapeutic interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be Licensed and registered to practice in BC.
  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related field is required.
  • Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with special education processes and resources is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to adults and adolescents, addressing their emotional, behavioral, and psychological needs.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s unique circumstances.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical professionals and educators, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and case notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in case management activities, including coordinating referrals to additional services as needed.
  • Stay informed about best practices in special education and pediatrics to provide informed support for patients with diverse needs.
