OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE

Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Bilingual is an asset
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Tracker or Paradigm is preferred.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.
  • Experience in chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
  • Knowledge of medical coding and documentation is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is beneficial.

Pay: $25.00-$33.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical records, ensuring compliance with IPAC regulations.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Tracker or Paradigm for patient management and scheduling.
  • Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging when necessary.
  • Maintain infection control protocols and aseptic techniques throughout the practice.
  • Support the dental receptionist with administrative tasks as needed.
