ABOUT US:

Our family-oriented office is located in the beautiful town of Westlock, which is about one hour north of Edmonton. We strive to provide quality dental care in a cheerful and friendly environment. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 5.00 p.m Monday to Thursday and some Fridays. The office is closed on weekends and statutory holidays.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Permit to practice as a registered dental assistant in Alberta
  • High school diploma
  • Excellent computer and typing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Confident and outgoing personality
  • Great attention to details
  • Motivation and ability to learn quickly
  • Must be a team player

FAVOURABLE BUT NON ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • One or more years of experience as an RDA;
  • Scaling Module;
Responsibilities
  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures;
  • Taking and processing dental radiographs (x-rays);
  • Asking about the patient’s medical history, and taking their blood pressure and pulse;
  • Helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after their dental treatment;
  • Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures;
  • Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain their oral health;(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling);
  • Taking impressions or digital scans of patients’ teeth;
  • Packing retraction cords;
  • Placement of restorative bands;
  • Placement of fissure sealants;
  • Prophylactic polishing of teeth (prophy);
  • Sterilization of instruments and room turn over
  • Ordering supplies and ensuring sufficient drugs, instruments, and materials are available;
  • Following up on patients and helping with referrals;
  • Keeping the clinic clean and tidy;
