JOB SUMMARY:

The responsibility of the Registered Dietitian varies on the location of the contract. The RD/RDN is responsible for all assessments/evaluations, MDS and care plans for residents in our facilities. Must be familiar with the latest edition of the Federal Food Code and provides leadership to all departments to ensure local, state, and Federal regulatory compliance. Communicates well with Patients/Residents/Account Managers/Staff/and Regionals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Registered Dietitian
  • ServSafe Manager Certified,
  • Bachelor’s and or Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics’ or related field
  • Ability to pass a TB Test, and Health Care background check.
  • Above Average Computer Skills
  • Must be able to lift, bend, kneel, climb, twist, and lift up to 20lbs
  • Must have general knowledge of how SNF Culinary Departments operates

    Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Detailed orientated, well groomed, friendly, positive professional behavior, team player that has a pleasant demeanor, communicates effectively, and adheres to company policy and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize projects and daily tasks.
  • Remains knowledgeable and current with the dietetic profession, maintaining and continuing education credits as established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
  • Orders diets, makes corrections, and changes diets adhering to the SOP.
  • Assess patient nutritional needs, understands principles of counseling and education.
  • Electronic Medical Record
  • Understands the Medical Record and documents, assessments, MDS, care plans, and occasional notes according to MDS timeline.
  • Attends Care Plan Meetings.
  • Monitors weight gains and losses and makes recommendations for supplements or dietary changes.
  • Partners with IDT and attends QAPI, writes nutritional report and tracks residents.
  • Tray Card Program
  • Visits residents in 48hrs of Admission to interview (when needed).
  • Assist with updating tray card program, including printing and auditing tray cards weekly.
  • Reviews meals and approves menus.
  • Maintains confidentiality, protects HIPAA, knows, and protects Resident Rights, documents complaints that residents have and resolves their issues.
  • Ensures accuracy of all diets and supplement orders.
  • Audits meals weekly, Audits and inspects kitchen monthly.
  • Will conduct in-services periodically.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Regional Director of Culinary Services.
