Description Job Title: Clinical Nutritionist / Dietitian Location: BMS Health Centers Employment Type: [Full-Time / Part-Time – specify as needed] Position Overview BMS Health Centers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinical Nutritionist/Dietitian to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role is responsible for evaluating, developing, and implementing comprehensive nutrition programs tailored to the diverse needs of our patient population. The ideal candidate is passionate about evidence-based care, health education, and integrating holistic and alternative nutrition approaches into clinical practice. Key Responsibilities Provide individualized nutrition care using best practices, including traditional, alternative, and integrative dietary approaches within scope of licensure. Develop and implement nutrition care plans based on patient assessments and population needs. Collaborate with primary care providers to deliver screenings, assessments, and counseling for prenatal, pediatric, and adult patients. Deliver nutrition education through workshops, group sessions, and community outreach programs. Conduct individual counseling for patients with complex or chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and obesity. Support menu planning and provide dietary oversight for the Brownsville Community Residential Center, including site visits and workshops. Educate and train clinical staff on nutrition-related topics through in-service sessions. Promote physical activity by developing and documenting patient exercise goals. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters and submit billing appropriately. Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination and communicate effectively with healthcare providers. Develop culturally appropriate nutrition education materials for the community. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, performance improvement activities, and departmental meetings. Participate in peer review processes and meet established productivity goals. Submit reports and required documentation in a timely manner. Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Foods and Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Master’s Degree in Nutrition preferred). Certified Dietitian, Certified Nutritionist, or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (preferred). Certified Diabetes Educator (preferred). Minimum of two (2) years of experience in clinical nutrition. Active membership with the American Dietetic Association. Strong interest in alternative and integrative nutrition approaches; prior experience is a plus, but willingness to learn is essential. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to patient-centered care and community health.
