Your Impact Matters: Join a team of over 44,000 committed to providing exceptional patient care Responsibilities Provides quality nutritional care to patients such as the development, implementation and monitoring of Medical Nutrition Therapy.Works collaboratively, serves as a nutritional resource, and provides nutritional education to the NTR transdisciplinary team, patients, and families to ensure implement nutrition care plans and maintain departmental standards. Perform nutrition assessments and re-assessments, identifies nutrition goals and interventions, monitors and evaluates patientprogress as needed. Provides clear and concise medical record documentation Monitor enteral nutrition support regimens as needed in conjunction with pharmacy and the medical staff. Collaborates with Speech Therapy regarding diet progression and transitional feeding to meet nutritional needs. Consider religious, cultural and ethnic factors in development of nutrition care plans. Evaluate potential food/drug interactions, and/or herb/supplement interactions. Provides nutrition education/counseling as appropriate Serves as a consultant to develop and implement educational programs for patients and staff. Works with the patient and familyto identify educational needs, achievable goals and provides patient education. Serves as a resource to the NTR transdisciplinary team regarding evidence-based nutrition practice Serve as a resource to the NTR transdisciplinary team to assure the nutritional goals are implemented. Advises the team regarding any special preparation techniques to be used for modified diets Participate in developing, planning and standardizing menus. Reviews and approves general and therapeutic menus. Reviews and approves menu substitutions. Keeps current with nutritional practices and theories. Maintains current professional registration requirements (i.e., Professional Portfolio, self-development and continuing education). Demonstrates interest in continuing education, academics or specialized certification to further enhance professional skills Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Current state licensure/certification, if required by state. Current registration by the Commission on Dietetics Registration required.
