Job Summary: Coordinates and monitors outpatient nutrition counseling services provided to outpatients and clients served including nutrition assessment and screening, development of nutrition and diet plans, counseling, completes progress notes, serves as a liaison and provides documentation in medical record to client’s personal physician. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: * Bachelor’s Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor’s): Required * Master's Degree: Required, only if eligibility for examination began on or after 1/1/24 * Experience as a Clinical Dietitian: Preferred * Dietetic internship or its equivalent: Required Licenses/Certifications: * Registered Dietitian (RD) within 6 months of completion of residency program: Required Essential Functions: * Performs nutrition assessment, reassessment and patient/family education. Performs all responsibilities/duties required by Registered Dietitian as defined in the scope of practice, to ensure that the needs of patients are addressed. * Conducts and coordinates outpatient nutritional counseling sessions and services. Follows ADA Medical Nutrition Therapy and other appropriate nutrition counseling protocols. Complete required documentation and maintain organized files for client charts, participation data, and communication logs. * Acts as an educational resource for health care team personnel including dietetic interns, patients, family members and community. Serves as instructor or assistant in presenting nutrition-related classes, seminars and workshops including tobacco treatment programs, heart and cancer prevention seminars, seniors’ seminars, wellness and fitness seminars, etc. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
