Registered Dietitian
Temporary Full-Time Contract (Oct 1, 2025-March 31, 2026) - possibility of travel for outreach follow-up
Wage rate: $37.19-46.48 (commensurate with experience)
The Registered Dietitian coordinates all phases of nutrition care including nutrition assessments, care planning, monitoring, education and patient counselling. They develop and implement evidence-based nutrition services and medical nutrition therapies that are integrated with patients’ medical goals. The Registered Dietitian works as part of an interprofessional team and acts as a consultant to other disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (or eligible for membership)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition of Food Science, Applied Human Nutrition or equivalent
  • Successful Completion in an Accredited Dietitians of Canada Dietetic Internship Program or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in a hospital setting is an asset
  • Additional training or certification in conducting bedside swallowing assessments and recommending appropriate therapeutic diets for dysphagia management
  • COVID Vaccination required to work in our facility (2 Doses)

Responsibilities
  • Initiating and monitoring individualized nutrition regimes based on laboratory data, general health status, clinical observations, medications and medical concerns
  • Recommending diets, supplements, and enteral/parenteral nutrition as appropriate
  • Consulting with and providing recommendations to other healthcare professionals including physicians, nursing staff, pharmacist, social workers, etc. (Recommendations can be related to swallowing assessment results, therapeutic diet recommendations or any other nutrition related topics)
  • Completing and implementing physicians’ orders
  • Monitoring patients’ progress on an ongoing basis as it relates to established milestones and modifying treatment plans accordingly
  • Conducting bedside swallowing assessments and making recommendations to the medical team based on assessment findings and best practice for dysphagia management
  • Participating in care conferences, team rounds and other interactions with the interprofessional team
  • Providing individualize evidenced-base nutrition education for patients and their family members
  • Other related duties as required or assigned
