OVERVIEW

Katimavik Cooperative Nursery School (KCNS) is looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and experienced Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) to join our vibrant community!
This is a one-year contract position (September–June) with the possibility of renewal.
As a cooperative preschool, our families are hands-on partners in the operation of the school, creating a unique and supportive environment for both staff and students. KCNS is a not-for-profit nursery school that helps children build confidence, independence, and school-readiness through social interaction and play-based learning.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and registration in good standing with the College of ECEs.
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children in a play-based setting.
  • Strong communication skills for connecting with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of curriculum planning, classroom management, and inclusive practices.
  • Familiarity with behaviour guidance strategies and supporting children with exceptionalities.
  • CPR+First aid certified
  • Police Record Check for Vulnerable Persons

  • Observe and document children’s growth and development, sharing progress with families.
  • Communicate openly with parents and caregivers as active partners in their child’s learning.
  • Maintain a tidy, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration.
  • Collaborate with co-educators and parent volunteers to bring fresh ideas and energy into the program.
