Program & Curriculum Plan and deliver play-based, inquiry-driven activities that support children’s development and reflect the principles of How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years. Observe, document, and assess children’s learning through pedagogical documentation. Adapt curriculum to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of children. Health, Safety & Well-Being Ensure the environment is clean, safe, and complies with all CCEYA licensing requirements. Supervise children at all times, ensuring ratios are met. Promote healthy eating, rest, and self-care practices. Respond to medical and emergency situations according to policies. Relationships & Communication Build respectful, responsive, and inclusive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding children’s progress and daily experiences. Collaborate with team members to support program goals and centre operations. Professionalism & Compliance Uphold the College of Early Childhood Educators’ Code of Ethics. Participate in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice. Maintain accurate records, including attendance, incident reports, and child portfolios.
Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Current registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE). Knowledge of CCEYA, How Does Learning Happen?, and other relevant legislation. Current Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification. Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (Police Record Check).
