Education, Qualifications and Certifications

  • Early Childhood Education Diploma
  • Registered in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
  • Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector)
  • Safe Food Handling
  • Standard First Aid with CPR-C
  • up-to-date MMR and tetanus immunization
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Have an understanding of How Does Learning Happen? and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a childcare setting

Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week, split shift, must be available between the hours of 6:45am and 6pm
Start Date: August 2025
Wage: minimum$23.83/hour plus $1.00/hour of CWELCC, and $2.08/hour of provincial wage enhancement. Note: the provincial wage enhancement is not payable on orientation, meetings or professional learning time. Starting rate is determined based on education and experience.

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE

The Team Lead will demonstrate competence and dedication to the development of programs and to the care and education of school aged children during their out of school hours while also assisting the Centre Administrator with the operational and administrative management of Milestones Children’s Centre - Assumption, which contributes to the success and long-term sustainability of Milestones Children’s Centre as a community partner and model for child care. All aspects of the Team Lead position will be performed while working within the framework of the vision, mission and value statements and the policies and procedures of Milestones Children’s Centre, the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual and How Does Learning Happen?

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Team Lead has accountabilities in the areas of Administration, Program Management, Mentoring and Coaching, Human Resources, Finance, Teamwork and Communication, Community Relations, Professional Learning, Health and Safety and Information Technology.
