Description:
Position Overview: The Head Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive educational programs in early childhood settings. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports children’s holistic development while mentoring and guiding a team of educators to ensure the highest standards of care and education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred).
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education with significant experience (acceptable).
- Certifications:
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Skills and Attributes:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Deep understanding of child development principles and best practices.
- Creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.

Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Delivery:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curricula that align with developmental milestones and learning objectives.
- Integrate creative, educational, and play-based activities into the daily schedule.
- Assess and adapt activities to meet the individual needs of each child.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide guidance, training, and support to ECEs, ECE Assistants and other staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment on program goals and strategies.
- Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment.
- Child Observation and Assessment:
- Monitor and document children’s progress, behaviours, and developmental milestones.
- Conduct regular assessments and maintain detailed records for each child.
- Share observations and progress reports with families and collaborate on strategies to support each child.
- Family Engagement:
- Build positive relationships with families and act as a key point of contact for communication.
- Provide resources and guidance to families on child development and parenting strategies.
- Health and Safety Oversight:
- Ensure that all health, safety, and hygiene policies are strictly followed.
- Conduct regular safety checks of the facility and equipment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and incidents.
- Professional Development and Compliance:
- Stay informed on best practices and emerging trends in early childhood education.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
