Description

Under general supervision and direction, the technologist will perform a variety of laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload. Duties include: processing specimens for Microbiology as per established policies and procedures; interpretation and reporting of stained smears. 1. Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) 2. Successful completion of an accredited MLT program 3. Recent experience in Microbiology required; to include proficiency in reading Gram stained smears, recognition of colonial morphology, identification of pathogens and reporting of susceptibility testing results. 4. Demonstrated knowledge of bio-safety principles. 5. Excellent communication, organizational and problem- solving skills
