Description
The Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) will be required to rotate between all Hamilton Health Science Core Laboratories (Hamilton General site, Juravinski Hospital site and McMaster University Medical Center site). The MLT provides routine, urgent and stat specimen testing in a fully computerized and highly automated Core Laboratory setting. The Medical Laboratory Technologist will perform a variety of laboratory procedures accurately, efficiently and safely while maintaining quality control and prioritizing workload. In addition to specimen testing the MLT will perform additional tasks as required. These include but are not limited to: teaching, training, method evaluation, technical writing, quality assurance projects and safety projects. 1. Current Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) 2. Successful completion of an accredited MLT program 3. Current core laboratory experience, including Core Hematology and Core Clinical Chemistry 4. Computer skills including Meditech & Microsoft office applications 5. Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills 6. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence, as well as contributing to the education and development of students and co-workers
