We have an awesome opportunity to join us as a Registered Nurse Manager (Learning Disability Nurse) at our service Burbank Mews in Hartlepool.
Burbank Mews is a registered service for adults with learning disabilities or autism made up of 6 individual purpose built bungalows. We’re committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, empowered enabling them to live the best life possible.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Maintain registration with the relevant regulator (i.e. CQC / Care Inspectorate / Ofsted), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and that all notifications to a regulatory body / external agencies are made as required.
  • Ensure the service and all colleagues are always inspection ready, focusing on fanatical attention to detail (FAD) and that when rated nothing less than perfection is acceptable.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date knowledge of all ACG Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and ensure that all processes are adhered to and regularly monitored to ensure compliance.
  • To ensure that all patients / residents / young person are subject to initial and ongoing assessments to determine their individual needs in order to accurately formulate a care plan that is person centred.
  • Responsibility for medicines management within the service and adherence to group medicines management policies and SOPs. This includes, but is not limited to, training and development of staff (with support from the learning and development team), inventory management, the management of PRN protocols, completion of medicines management audits (and closing the audit cycle through direct action) and the reporting of any medication related incidents internally and to the relevant authority (alongside any positive action taken).
  • RMs should actively support staff to engage with patients / residents / young people to ensure that anyone in our care is supported in understanding their medication regimens and they should work closely with primary and secondary care providers.
  • Put processes in place to ensure care plans are centred around the individual, reviewed and audited on a regular basis using the relevant electronic patient system for the service.
  • To ensure that all patients / residents / young person are always safeguarded, and appropriate actions and notifications are made in accordance with company policy or local area procedures.
  • To ensure that regular reviews are held for each patient / resident / young person, in accordance with the placing authority’s wishes and/or according to company policies and guidelines, chairing meetings as agreed or required.
  • To build strong relationships with patients / resident / young person’s families ensuring they are involved in the person’s care plan and reviews in the service and are regularly kept up to date.
  • Solely accountable for attaining and maintaining maximised bed occupancy, through appropriate marketing and referral processing, according to company guidelines and policies. All admissions must be appropriate for the service.
  • Responsible for their budget and ensuring relevant measures are in place to achieve Revenue and EBITDA performance.
  • The RM will work with their Finance Business Partner in setting their budgets, monitoring performance, taking corrective action where needed and continually look for ways to eliminate waste and be frugal.
  • Responsible for ensuring that rosters are appropriate for the service, that safe levels of staffing are maintained in line with the service model and are flexed in line with occupancy, wherever possible.
