Description

Registered Manager – Brand New Children’s Home
Location: Harrow (with flexibility for some home working)
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
About the Role
We are opening a brand-new children’s home in Harrow and are seeking an experienced and inspiring Registered Manager to lead the service from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to shape a new home, establish its culture, and deliver outstanding care for children and young people from the very beginning.
As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the home, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements and provides the highest quality of care. You will also be central to the Ofsted registration process, bringing both compliance knowledge and a passion for creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.
This role offers flexibility, with the option of some home working alongside your on-site responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day operations of a brand-new children’s home.
  • Driving the Ofsted registration process and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
  • Building and developing a new staff team, embedding a positive, reflective culture.
  • Delivering therapeutic, trauma-informed care that supports children aged 11–25 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Ensuring safeguarding, risk management, and quality standards are consistently upheld.
  • Developing strong partnerships with local authorities, schools, clinicians, and external professionals.
  • Monitoring performance, outcomes, and continuous improvement within the service.

About You

  • Significant leadership experience in residential childcare, with a strong track record as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager.
  • A detailed understanding of Ofsted regulations, Schedule 2 requirements, and quality standards.
  • A proven ability to build, lead, and inspire staff teams.
  • Resilient, organised, and committed to delivering outstanding outcomes for children.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A forward-thinking leader who can balance compliance with compassion and innovation.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary between £55,000 – £65,000 depending on experience.
  • Flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
  • The opportunity to lead a brand-new service and shape its culture and direction.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • A collaborative and supportive leadership network.
  • A chance to make a lasting difference in children’s lives while advancing your leadership career.
