⭐ About the home:
Based in Enfield N14, this home is a large 5-bedded mixed-gender home with capacity for 4 young people aged between 11 and 17. The home is currently taking time to obtain the right referrals and source compassionate staff that can best fit the long-term direction of the home.
The home is obtaining referalls for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) including challenging behaviours, trauma and neglect.The residential home is a double-fronted semi-detached house, equipped well with 3x reception rooms, a large kitchen, a garden and an en-suite bedroom.
By frequently undertaking training in safeguarding, therapeutic techniques and deescalation, on offer is a calm, structured, and understanding environment where young people can feel truly at home. This home has been set up by its Director, who has worked every role imaginable within residential childcare, and even received an MBE for his services to vulnerable children.
⭐ The role:
As Registered Manager you will:
- Provide leadership for the daily operation of the home
- Oversee Ofsted visits and audits including monthly Reg 44 visits
- Inspire and motivate the team to maintain high standards of service delivery
- Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and incident reporting
- Provide regular supervision for care staff and maintain regular team meeting with all appropriate parties, ensuring records are kept
- Supporting therapeutic practices and ensuring emotional safety
- Rotas, paperwork, domestic duties, and contributing to daily fun
- Support with activity planning and enhancing the children’s experience
- Promoting independence, education, and personal growth for the young people
- Liaise with professionals to ensure the service user needs are met.
- Drive awareness amongst referrers in service lines and strategic imperatives.
- Target and secure new referrer relationships for existing/new facilities.
- Adhere to professional standards and legislation in relation to our Ofsted requirements.
Shift pattern:
- Shifts are Monday to Friday, 9-to-5
- Seeking registered managers who view supporting young people as a lifestyle rather than a job!
- On-call requirements shared with Deputy Manager
⭐ What you’ll need:
- 12 months’ management experience within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home
- Be enrolled on Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- High knowledge of care standards including child protection and demonstrable experience of managing a similar service supporting children with EBD.
- Strong leadership, organisation and people skills
- Clear understanding of safeguarding and Ofsted standards
- A full UK driving licence (recommended)
