We are seeking dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMN) to join our multi-disciplinary team, supporting children and young people within a residential care setting. You will contribute to the development and delivery of individualised care plans and therapeutic mental health interventions, ensuring the emotional and physical wellbeing of those in your care.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC Registered)
  • Experience supporting young people, particularly those presenting with distressed behaviours, in settings such as families, schools, or residential services.
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, Autism, and/or trauma-related experiences.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Ability to understand and support young people with distressed behaviours, demonstrating empathy, patience, and resilience.
  • Trauma-informed care approach.
  • Understanding of the biopsychosocial model of care.
  • Conflict resolution, teamwork, and initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, tailored to meet the needs of young people and staff.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing support as part of a holistic, therapeutic care team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet the mental and physical health needs of young people.
  • Participate in staff handovers at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Attend regular supervision sessions as required.
  • Ensure all care is delivered in line with the organisation’s therapeutic model, accurately recording progress and interventions.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of:
  • Multi-Agency Support Plans
  • Behaviour Analysis Reports
  • Risk Assessments
  • Individual Care Plans
  • Maintain hourly records, submitting them to management and clinical teams to support evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in duties, taking on additional responsibilities when required due to unforeseen changes or operational needs.
