Description

We are seeking to recruit two motivated individuals with excellent people skills and with specific interest in rehabilitation, recovery and promoting independence to support our client group to live a meaningful life in the community.
Westway’s rehabilitation teamwork with individuals to turn the corner in their recovery with a focus on reablement, confidence building and re-finding or developing skills that will support rehabilitation. You will work closely with service users, their families/carers and multi-disciplinary team to provide a holistic approach to mental health recovery.
Using a recovery approach, we help people to maintain their health, moving them towards greater autonomy, to manage their illness and maintain independence in the community. Our team work closely with families and carers using a behavioural family therapy approach, supporting them to cope and facilitate the building of positive relationships.
An experienced RMN/RNLD who is enthusiastic about working with people with complex mental illness and who can demonstrate a real commitment to providing high quality and compassionate care.
To that end, you will be a key individual to lead the shifts on a day-to-day basis, ensuring service users’ needs are met, medical concern and psychosocial stressors are identified and handed over to the MDT. We look forward to hearing from interested candidates.
The post holder will assess needs, plan, implement and monitor care in collaboration with the service user, carers, and the multi-disciplinary team.
To administer medication in accordance with NMC administration of medicine.
To actively encourage service users to work towards self-determination, rehabilitation, recovery and promoting independence to support our client group to live a meaningful life upon discharge into the community.
To work as a primary nurse to oversee care delivery to a group of service users.
To provide leadership and supervision to care support workers, students, and nursing associates.
To analyse, respond to and lead junior staff through complex and challenging clinical situations.
To maintain a high standard of written communication, recording appropriate events and observations in accordance with Trust policies and the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To undertake shift co-ordination, and take responsibility for care delivery in a specific area for spans of duty, including maintaining a safe clinical environment.
To contribute to the provision of a safe clinical environment which promotes the dignity of service users.
To participate in service evaluations, benchmarking, research, and audit activities, and to contribute to implementation of service development.
To account for one’s own professional practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.

  • Working as autonomous practitioners and taking responsibility for the care they give to the service users, but within their limits of competency and confidence.

    • Acting as an advocate for the service users in the multi-disciplinary team and overseeing work of others to ensure that they are also responding to the needs of service users and providing clinically effective care.

                        • Facilitating physical health clinic to promote good general wellbeing of the service users and ensuring that age related screening is taking place.


                          • Safeguarding people by recognising and responding when an adult or a child might be at risk from abuse but also recognising their limits and seeking for help and escalating concerns accordingly.


                            • Maintaining accurate, timely documentation in line with the legal and professional standards.
