Wage Schedule: $36.840 - $51.770 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in good standing;
  • Completion of an accredited training program in magnetic resonance imaging;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Medical Radiation Technologist, preferred;
  • Minimum 1 year MRI experience, preferred;
  • Current CAMRT Registration, an asset;
  • Thorough knowledge of MRI safety;
  • Thorough knowledge of theoretical and practical MR physics, image quality enhancement, parameter trade-offs, potential contrast complications;
  • Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community;
  • Able to function effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team;
  • Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement;
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position;
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record;
  • Current BLS training;

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging and the Corporate Charge Technologist, the MRI Registered Technologist performs all MRI procedures and assists the radiologist with specialized procedures according to the standards of practice. The Technologist is responsible for assessing, planning implementation and evaluating patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary care environment. They are responsible for ensuring proper MR safety, patient preparation and screening, patient information registry and report preparation in PACS and digital EMR, equipment maintenance, ensure high quality image acquisition, collaborating on training and education and other duties as relevant.
