PURPOSE OF THE REGISTERED NURSE ROLE

As a Registered Nurse at Achieve Australia, your primary goal is to provide person-centered quality clinical services to people with a disability. You will monitor and review health care plans and focus on clinical and health management. We are looking for a part time nurse with ability to work some night shifts in our Mortdale service.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent including holding a current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current NDIS and WWCC certificates
  • Awareness of human rights and challenges facing individuals with disabilities.
  • Experience in working with and supporting adults and/or children with complex disability.
  • Experience in working with Indigenous Australians would be highly regarded.

Role Responsibilities: As a Registered Nurse, your duties will include:

  • Developing comprehensive health care plans and other clinical care plans for for people with a disability who have a range of functional abilities and complex needs.
  • Provide nursing care to clients with urinary catheter, PEG and bowel care needs, including providing coaching and oversight to support staff in these and other care areas.
  • Assisting in the coordination of clinical supports within resources, policies and guidelines.
  • Ensuring that day to day administrative processes are operating effectively and provide effective feedback to the Service Manager and Clinical Lead on service provision.
  • Coordinating and reviewing person centred support services that are consistent with individual/lifestyle plans; monitor and coach support staff with the implementation the plans’ goals, expected service standards and associated complexities of the people being supported.
  • Building work relationships with local community partnerships (including families and carers) and with other stakeholders both within and external to Achieve Australia.
  • Promoting a commitment to employment equity and diversity, workplace health and safety (WHS), risk management and ethical practices
