About the Acute Cardiac Unit

Become part of our fast-paced, 48-bed Acute Cardiac Unit, where you’ll care for patients during both the critical and recovery phases of cardiac illness.

  • Integrated with Interventional & Diagnostic Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Strong collaboration with Emergency, Cath Lab, and ICU teams
  • Supported by a Clinical Nurse Educator in a rich learning environment

Your Role

As a Registered Nurse (Grade 2) in our Acute Cardiac Unit, you will:

  • Independently and collaboratively assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care
  • Uphold patient and family privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
  • Deliver care aligned with Cabrini’s mission, values, and goals
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop tailored care plans
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cardiovascular assessment, including ECG interpretation and telemetry monitoring
  • Recognise and respond to changes in patient condition, making timely clinical decisions
  • Implement evidence-based interventions and evaluate patient outcomes
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and families
  • Communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Engage in continuous learning and quality improvement initiatives

What we’re looking for:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in acute cardiac nursing (preferred)
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Cardiac Nursing highly regarded
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to quality care
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centred service skills
  • Alignment with Cabrini’s Mission, Values, and faith-based ethos
