Do you have an interest in coaching and mentoring other nurses? Under the direction of the Associate Chief Nursing Office at Alberta Health Services, the Registered Nurse, Clinical Guide will serve as a key resource for newly hired Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs). This vital role combines direct patient care with real-time coaching and mentorship to support the successful transition of IENs into the healthcare system. Registered Nurse, Clinical Guides are responsible for modeling nursing practice, interventions, techniques, professional practices within the RN scope over a two to four-week period. They provide hands-on guidance through consistent patient care exposure, demonstrate clinical processes and offer real-time feedback to help IENs meet their individualized learning goals. With a team-based mindset, they will support IENs in integrating into multidisciplinary teams, guide strong communication practices with patients, families, and healthcare teams, and facilitate familiarity with clinical documentation, equipment, supplies, and digital tools used in practice. They will collaborate with the program educator and program lead to provide feedback on IEN transition plan progress as per learning plan. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
