Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager for the Summit Day Hospital program, the Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary team within the Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities within the level of competency. The registered nurse provides leadership in nursing assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for the purpose of promoting, maintaining, or restoring health, and in preventing illness, injury, and disability. The registered nurse is guided by their level of education, expertise, experience, demonstrated skill level, and job description. The Day Hospital RN/RPN will provide daily assessment of patient mental status, suicide risk, physical health & health risks, social & family interactions, learning capabilities, education needs, and responses to treatment goals and care plans. The Day Hospital RN/RPN will utilize a strength-based, bio-psycho-social, and family centered approach to care. The RN/RPN will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to gather, validate, and expand on assessment data. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
