Coronation Hospital and Care Centre (located in Coronation, Alberta) has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse in their Long Term Care. In this role, you will work as a team lead within a multidisciplinary team to provide client and family focused care in the Long Term Care environment. In this role, the Registered Nurse must have the ability to use critical thinking skills to plan, assess, implement and evaluate client centered care. Your exceptional communication skills are a must, as well as your ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. You must have the ability to work independently, providing continuity, leadership, including direction, supervision, mentoring, constructive feedback and client care coordination to other professionals and unregulated staff. This environment is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest and skills in providing care to the elderly client, including those diagnosed with Alzheimer Disease or other dementias. Recent gerontology nursing experience and/or education, Charge Nurse, and leadership training is an asset, although training and professional development opportunities are available to successful candidates. New Graduate Nurses are welcome to apply to this position. The Town of Coronation is located in the heart of east central Alberta about 270 km from Edmonton and 300 km from Calgary. Coronation has a population of around 1000 but serves a larger area in the County of Paintearth. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
