Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) to join our specialized multidisciplinary team within the Calgary Eating Disorders Program. Reporting to the inpatient Manager, the RN/RPN will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive, client-centered care to individuals living with eating disorders and their families. In this role, the nurse will function as a primary care provider, employing the full scope of nursing practice, including clinical judgment, therapeutic communication, and evidence-informed interventions. Responsibilities include conducting medical assessments, providing ongoing physical and psychological monitoring, and implementing medical and therapeutic interventions aligned with individualized care plans and as per Recovery Alberta and Eating Disorder Unit specific Policy and procedures. The RN/RPN will also facilitate and support group therapy sessions, deliver psychoeducational content, and provide structured meal support in collaboration with the broader treatment team. This position requires a strong foundation in both medical and mental health nursing, with an emphasis on collaborative, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
