Summary: The Crisis Registered Nurse will work with Crisis Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs) to ensure continuity of care for all CAC and CSU clients. The Crisis Registered Nurses (RN) will ensure all medical crisis functions are completed as required. Education Requirement: Graduate of an approved RN program. Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates.    Experience Requirement: * EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A MENTAL HEALTH OR CRISIS SETTING. * Previous experience working in a crisis setting is preferred.  Licensure/Certification Requirement: Licensed Registered Nurse to work in the state of TN.  Current BLS certification required.    Key Job Responsibilities: 1. Assess medical needs for all clients seen and/or admitted.  2. Work with CMA to develop medical treatment plan for clients. Provide education on medical recommendations to client, collateral contacts, and other staff as needed. 3. Complete all nurse charting and all documentation accurately and in a timely manner.  4. Administer medication for all clients as prescribed by Crisis Providers. This may include PRN medications as needed for client distress.  5. Take client vital signs, including height, weight, o2, glucose, and BAL, when needed. 6. Complete UDS and pregnancy tests on clients, when needed.  7. Collect laboratory specimens, when needed. 8. Provide clinical guidance and direction (not supervision) to CMAs on shift.  9. Complete nurse-to-nurse for external admissions or discharges when requested by Lead or Provider.  10. Complete medical clearance forms, ensuring everything is documented as required.  11. CSU: Ensure CSU Bed Board is accurate and up to date at all times.  12. CSU: Coordinate all discharges, including AMA, with Provider on duty.  13. CSU: Ensure admissions are completed and documented in the appropriate program.  14. Follow infection control guidelines at all times. 15. Participate in all required trainings. 16. Attend all required nurse meetings led by Crisis Nursing Manager.  17. Read work email every business day. 18. Abide by the policies and procedures as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual.   Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Ability to work effectively in a crisis service delivery setting dealing with individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis.  * Ability to use mature judgment in problem resolution and to formulate appropriate crisis intervention strategies for Center clients.  * Must have knowledge of management and organization, and knowledge of the professional disciplines.  PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS  In order to appropriately accomplish his/her duties, the person occupying this position must maintain effective relationships with Crisis Managers, Crisis Director, ACT and AOP Managers, Alliance management team, and community members Supervision Provided by this Job: * None Physical Demands/Conditions: Prolonged standing and walking; lifting, turning patients and equipment.
